The Warrensburg Community Center is pleased to announce their spring lecture series, “Keeping it Green,” a campaign to distribute information about environmental responsibility. Anyone living in Warrensburg is welcome to attend. The lectures will be held at the Warrensburg Community Center with the exception of the first talk, which will take place at Hayford Elementary School while a maintenance project is performed at the center. All events begin at 7 p.m.
“Recycling Basics” Thursday, March 24th Confused about recycling regulations? Esther Shapiro will teach you everything you need to know about what can be recycled as well as tips about storage and collection schedules.
“Organic Gardening” Thursday, March 31st You can make a positive effect on the environment in your own backyard! Dorothy Kirschner provides you with advice to get you started.
“On the Road” Thursday, April 7th Daniel Keeler will discuss how to maximize your car’s fuel efficiency to save gas and cut down on pollution. He will also give an overview of some of the latest models of electric cars. “Making Your Own Cleaners” Thursday, April 14th Malia Ferguson teaches you how to reduce the level of chemicals in your home by making cleaning products from everyday household items. Participants will do a hands-on activity and mix their own all-purpose cleaner. Please bring an empty spray bottle and a two-dollar donation for materials.
