To: Department Managers From: Public Relations Office Date: September 18th Re: Hunger Awareness Month Montoya Corporation would like to continue its positive role in the local as well as global community by participating in activities during Hunger Awareness Month starting October 1st. Department managers are to inform their employees of these special events in their next department meeting on September 22nd. 1) Montoya Corporation will be sponsoring a food drive for St. Augustine Homeless Shelter. Non-perishable food can be brought to the office starting October 1st. Boxes will be provided in each department to collect the food. Please choose a person who will help gather and count the food items on October 31st and load them into the truck to be taken to the shelter. 2) A talk will be given by a representative from the Feed the World Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing food to undernourished communities around the world. The talk will be held on October 14th at 2 p.m. This event will be about an hour and a half long, including the question and answer session, and attendance at the talk is compulsory. Those who would like to make a financial contribution to Feed the World can submit cash or checks to the speaker that day. 3) Throughout the month of October, workers who would like to help with preparing and serving lunch to the homeless at the Community Center Soup Kitchen will be granted extended lunch hours. Sign up in the Public Relations Office. Note: maximum 15 people per day. If we all work together, we can raise awareness about the problem of worldwide hunger.
