TO: Kevin Jacobs <jacobs.k@topindustry.com> FROM: Mary Wheeler <wheeler.m@topindustry.com> DATE: August 12th SUBJECT: Company cutbacks Dear Mr. Jacobs As you know, one of my main responsibilities over the past few months 1.------- to review all of the office departments in detail and gather comprehensive information about their expenditures and waste. My goal is to use this information to make important decisions about cutbacks in the budget. After a 2.------- look at the company's financial situation, I have found one area where we could easily reduce overhead costs. The payroll department and the accounting department have many overlapping responsibilities and often the same work is being done by both, which is very inefficient. I recommend merging the two and laying off a few employees. I know that this decision might lower staff 3.-------, but this would just be a temporary effect. Eventually, I'm sure employees would rebuild their confidence in the company as they see that we are making decisions toward financial stability. We can discuss this issue further at our lunch meeting on Tuesday. Thanks, Mary Wheeler |
