Aberdeen Zoo Welcomes New Arrivals
August 14—In a press conference yesterday, a spokesperson for the Aberdeen Zoo announced the arrival of two polar bears. The four-year-old female and five-year-old male were purchased from Brentwood Zoo and arrived on July 25. They are on display in the Northern Frontier section of the zoo and have been getting quite a bit of attention from the public.
Officials have reported that since the bears’ arrival, the attendance rate at the zoo has gone up by 12% compared to last year, which has also led to an increase in food and drink sales within the zoo. Additionally, two monetary contributions have been made by private donors to support the upkeep of the bears’ living area.
Plans are also being made for a special event on September 3 in celebration of the female bear’s birthday. Fun activities for the whole family will be held throughout the day, including prize drawings, a performance by the Easyway Singers, and an arts and crafts booth. The event runs from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M., and children will be admitted for half price on that day.
