TO: All staff I have just been contacted by a city official about some upcoming construction in our area. On Thursday, September 15th, maintenance workers from the city will be resurfacing 7th Street from Geneva Avenue to Olive Avenue. This project is expected to take two days and will result in the closing of that entire section of the road. Despite this inconvenience, we still expect all employees to arrive to work punctually, so please plan accordingly. For those of you who drive, you will have to take a detour around the construction area. Furthermore, parking will not be allowed on the street after 5 a.m. on the first day of construction. I know that many of you use the bus stop in front of the office at 7th and Worley. Unfortunately, this stop will be closed for the duration of the project, so your best option is to use the stop at 9th and Columbia and walk from there. That stop is serviced by buses 42, 154, 167, and 5900. During the construction, sidewalk access to the front of the building will still be available. However, please be aware that the area will be filled with dust and equipment, so we recommend entering only through the back door. Thank you for your patience. I hope this memo answers your questions. Sincerely, Gregory Ferguson |
