Harvest Festival Features Activities for the Whole Family
Gold Springs, October 23—This Saturday, October 29, Gold Springs will kick off its fifth annual Harvest Festival, which will run until November 4. The festival is part of an annual tradition that allows the Gold Springs community to celebrate the season together.
A variety of activities suitable for visitors of all ages have been planned, some of which are listed below. All events are offered free of charge. Opening ceremony at Rosemont Park -Music by the Jubilee Band, speech by Mayor Lyle Sorenson 11 A.M. – 6 P.M. Farmers’ Market at Rosemont Park -Purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers *
Sunday, October 30 10 A.M. – 1 P.M. Family Eco-Art Fair at the Gold Springs Community Center -Learn how to make a variety of crafts from recycled materials, no registration required 11:30 A.M. – 3 P.M. Grilling contest at Rosemont Park -Show off your best recipes from the grill; each recipe will be sampled by judges and the winner will receive a $200 gift certificate to the Atha Department Store 5 P.M. – 8 P.M. Modern Dance Party at Rosemont Park -Dance troupes from around Gold Springs will perform on the main stage. Bench seating is available, or you can bring your own blanket and sit on the grass.
*For farmers: you must register for a booth in advance. Forty booths are available on a first come, first served basis. Vendors can rent a booth for the entire day for $20. |
