Visitors Flock to Hilliard Museum
March 12-Hilliard Museum is experiencing record attendance for its exhibition “Sunset Dreams” by artist Lillie Russo. The collection features metal sculptures that visitors can interact with-various pieces can be moved around to create different poses for the sculptures. After seven years of building a reputation for herself as a painter, Russo experimented with sculpture for the first time. The result is clearly a success, as her imaginative style has attracted a wide audience and allowed people to connect to the artwork on a personal level.
Museum director Charlene Walck reported that the gallery almost missed its chance to host this popular exhibit. “When the exhibit was first proposed, we had to turn it down because there wasn’t enough space in this year’s event calendar. However, another show was later canceled due to some controversial pieces, which made room for ‘Sunset Dreams.’ We’re so pleased with the overwhelming response to this exhibition and we hope to show more of Russo’s work in the future.”
The exhibition will run until May 15, so don’t miss your chance to see it in person. On the final day of the exhibition, a closing reception will be held at 6:30 P.M. The artist herself will be in attendance to greet guests and the museum director will give a speech. The event is open to the public.
