TO: Curtis Pierce FROM: Rebecca Dunn DATE: March 27th SUBJECT: Sales Prize Mr. Pierce, Based on a conversation I had with a few of the employees, I believe it would be a good idea to offer a monthly prize to the top salesperson. It would be a great 1.---------- for encouraging the staff to meet and exceed their sales goals. This is also an opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our team members. Programs in the past have used cash bonuses, but research shows that giving cash is one of the least 2.------- rewards employees can receive. I have read several studies showing that public recognition is much more motivating. For that reason, I'd like to hold a short, informal ceremony each month to announce the top salesperson and give out a small gift. 3.------- a cash bonus would only effect one employee, a public ceremony will give encouragement to all who attend. I hope individuals will celebrate with their colleagues as well as be driven to try to get the prize the following month.
